Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and LAKSH ("LAKSH", "we", "us") governing your use of the LAKSH mobile app, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, checking the acceptance box, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use LAKSH

You must be at least 13 years old to use LAKSH. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.

2. What LAKSH is

LAKSH is a self-improvement and goal-coaching tool built around doing one meaningful task a day. It uses AI to generate personalized roadmaps and to review photo "proof" of your check-ins, and it tracks XP, levels, streaks, and badges to keep you motivated.

3. No guarantee of results

LAKSH is a motivational and organizational tool — not professional advice. It does not provide medical, mental-health, psychological, legal, financial, career, or other professional advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. AI-generated roadmaps and feedback can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your situation; use your own judgment.

We do not promise or guarantee any particular outcome. Your results depend on many factors within your own control, including your effort, consistency, and circumstances. You are solely responsible for your decisions and actions. If you are dealing with a medical, mental- health, or crisis situation, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

4. Subscriptions, pricing, and billing

LAKSH offers a limited free experience (currently one AI-generated roadmap per device) and paid subscription plans for full access. Current plans and prices:

  • Premium — $9.99 USD per month.
  • Starter — $2.50 USD per week.

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, on the LAKSH website. Prices are shown before you pay and are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise; taxes may apply.

Subscriptions renew automatically. Your plan renews and your payment method is charged at the then-current price at the start of each billing period (every week or every month) until you cancel. You can cancel anytime through the billing/account portal we provide; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods or unused time. We may change prices or plans, and will give reasonable advance notice of price changes that affect you; continuing to use a paid plan after a change takes effect means you accept the new price.

5. Acceptable use and anti-abuse

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:

  • Create multiple or fake accounts, or otherwise try to obtain free AI generations or other paid features beyond what your plan allows.
  • Attempt to evade, reset, or circumvent device-level limits, usage limits, paywalls, or other access controls.
  • Use bots, scripts, scrapers, or other automated means to access the Service, or call our APIs in a way we did not authorize.
  • Submit false, manipulated, or AI-faked photos or other "proof," or otherwise game the system.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, probe, or interfere with the Service or its security, or access it in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
  • Upload unlawful, infringing, harmful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable content, or content you don't have the right to share.

To protect the Service and prevent abuse, we may enforce per-device limits on free AI generations (including keeping a device-level record that persists even after an account is deleted), rate-limit requests, and use other anti-abuse measures. If we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or abused the Service, we may warn, suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, remove content, withhold or refuse free features, and/or pursue any other remedy available to us — in serious cases without prior notice.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the goals, answers, photos, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — which includes sending it to our service providers, such as our AI provider, to generate roadmaps and review proof (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights to share it.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service — including the app, website, design, logos, text, and software — is owned by LAKSH and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use under these Terms. You may not copy, sell, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by law.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI outputs will be accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LAKSH and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LAKSH and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access as described in Section 5 or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., content license for already-processed data, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification) will survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, in-app or by updating the date above). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California, except where your local consumer-protection law gives you additional rights that cannot be waived.
